First Stop - Barcelona, Spain

To say we're excited about our upcoming visit to Barcelona is an understatement. Although we've visited this amazing city many times, this trip is all about the local restaurants and the food that is unique to this area.

In the past we've eaten at Los Caracoles (translation: The Snail) - the oldest restaurant in Barcelona (established in 1835)

The best part was when we missed the entrance and wound up coming into the restaurant through the alley, into the kitchen and then up several flights of stairs to our cozy seating (which seemed like the attic!)

On another trip we enjoyed a private dining session with chef Rudi and his wife. He made an amazing wood & wire contraption for presentation of the oxtails, and his smoked monkfish under glass was intriguing. Wine, Food & Friends ... who could ask for anything more.

A must for any "Foodie" while visiting Barcelona is the Mercat - What an experience! The sights, the sounds, the aroma of every variety of food imaginable. Each visit is better than the last ..

As part of our pre-planning for the upcoming trip, I'm looking into all the places and foods that might tantalize our tastebuds, and I'm certainly open to suggestions!
