A Travellerspoint blog

Have you figured it out yet?

Yes, it's true, the holiday season is in our rear view mirror and yet my annual tradition, wearing my favorite pin, has once again helped bring lots of cheers and expressions of "OH, how could I not have known that from the start!"

So, to refresh your memory .. here's the holiday pin ...

I receive all kinds of guesses ... for instance,

  • No LOSERS
  • No LEFTIES
  • No LARGE SIZES
  • No LIBERALS
  • No LEMONS, LOBSTERS, LIONS, ..,. etc.

you get the picture!

Once you see what it means, it's oh so obvious ... so for those who haven't guessed it yet, and as much as I hate to reveal the answer ... I feel compelled to let you in on the holiday message (but don't tell another soul). Until next year, when I will weaar the pin once again, the secret is between you and me and the answer to the riddle is ....

Noel!

And to provide all - those who guessed correctly and those who did not .. here is a litle more enlightenment:
The word "Noel" has several meanings. In French, it means "Christmas" and is often used in the phrase "Joyeux Noël," which translates to "Merry Christmas." Additionally, it can mean "good news," originating from the French phrase "bonnes nouvelles." The term is also associated with Christmas carols. Etymologically, "Noel" comes from the Latin word "natalis," meaning "birthday," and it refers specifically to the birth of Jesus, as well as the Christmas season.

So there you have it .. until 2024, when once again, let the fun begin!
