Moorea is a stunning heart-shaped island in French Polynesia, known for its lush vegetation, exceptional lagoon, and two large bays, Cook and Opunohu, separated by Mount Rotui. Moorea features a prominent caldera formed during the Pleistocene era when approximately half of the original volcano subsided into the surrounding ocean. This caldera is open to the north and is surrounded by steep and jagged peaks, contributing significantly to the island's striking appearance.
With a temperature of 88 degrees and humidity exceeding 75%, we slathered on the sunscreen, grabbed our cameras, boarded the tender and headed ashore for our photography expedition. Prior to setting off, we engaged in some light shopping, enjoyed watching local dances, and sought refuge from the heat by remaining under shaded areas.
Despite the high temperatures, we managed to explore the entire island and capture a diverse range of sights; here are just a few examples.
And here's my very favorite that Jeff took with the new camera!

Beautiful photography! Note: Hope Jeff can learn to put on "intentional flash" so as to see your beautiful face -- like in the balcony scenic shot.
