Serenade Of The Seas current position is at coordinates 17.653 N / -81.7736 W en route to ARUBA. We're traveling at 19 knots which is 35 miles per hour. At that speed we are due to arrive the day after tomorrow.

Meanwhile, we're keeping busy onboard. The upper decks were closed today (due to high winds) so I did my "Walk around the World" (see 12/12/23) at the fitness center. The captain informed us we were the last ships before they closed the ports in the Bahamas due to weather. Wheww!

The enrichment offering today was Captain Hutchinson, a Royal Air Force Pilot who began flying in 1955 and has flown more than 70 aircraft. He calls it being at the Sharp End. Below are two of the planes he's flown - quite a change in 20 some years from the prop plane to the Concorde!

I mentioned that a previous presenter was Jennifer Nabongo who has traveled all 195 countries in the world. Today she signed her book for me and I gave her one of my travel blog cards. Obviously, we have our love of travel in common ... or are prehaps traveling because we're happy, sad or just plan "making SOMETHING happen"!

Jeff and I last calculated that we've traveled to about 50 countries which obviously isn't even a third of her accomblishments. She's been to several countries I bet you never even heard of, let alone know where they are. Here's a list for you to Google and improve your geographical awareness of the world in which we live! (Or purchase her book and you can read all about her adventures in each one of them .. It's called "Catch me if you can".)

Yes, I believe she's been to all but 4 or 5 states. Hasn't been to Kansas, the Dakotas and a few others.
